Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.

Problem:
Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.

Specifically when domain user tries to map network share on another domain computer.

Cause:
Local security policy does not allow that user to Access this computer from network.

Solution:
If computer is not on domain and user is local user on that computer.

1: Go to Administrative Tools --> Local Security Policy

2: Browse to Local Policies --> User Rights Assignment

3: Double Click Access this computer from the network and add above user in list

If computer is on domain and user is domain user

1: On Domain Controller Go to Active Directory Users and Computers --> Users

2: Create a new group (i.e Network Users)

3: Make above Domain User member of this group

4: Go to Administrative Tools --> Domain Security Policy

5: Browse to Local Policies --> User Rights Assignment

6: Double Click Access this computer from the network

7: Add above group (i.e. Network Users) in list

That's it, Now restart domain computer where you have shared folder and it will work.
